At the meeting, VIDIFI representatives reported on the implementation status of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project.

Accordingly, as of July 25, the project's site clearance work reached 99.26%; The Korean - Vietnam consulting joint venture has completed the technical design and estimates for 11 main bidding packages of the project (from EX-1A to EX-10); Technical design of auxiliary packages is being implemented, and some packages are expected to be completed and deployed in early 2014.

Regarding implementation progress, the project has signed and implemented construction for 10/11 main construction and installation packages. The remaining package (EX-1B) is in the contractor selection stage and is expected to begin construction in August 2013. The bidding packages in the Hai Phong area have basically been completed and are expected to open to traffic at the end of 2014 and early 2015.

As of June 30, 2013, the total disbursement value of the project reached more than 16,500 billion VND, reaching about 36.35% of the total value of the signed contract and 67.19% of the value of the total approved investment.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Truong Tan Vien requested VIDIFI to finalize the total investment and financial plan for the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project; Work with localities where the project passes through to continue implementing the remainder of the site clearance work.

The Deputy Minister also requested that VIDIFI, based on today's working session, complete the project report. In particular, focus on the difficulties and obstacles in the two bidding packages EX-1B and EX-10 of the project to have a report at the meeting on the implementation status of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project chaired by the Minister of Transport this week.
